One of the limitations in adoption for drone technology has been the relatively limited flight time available for battery operated drones. In industries such as agriculture, this has impacted what role drones have been able to play when put up against manned aviation and satellites. But the high-quality data drones can provide these industries often outshines what can be collected from alternative methods—drones are capable of flying closer and zooming in to get high resolution detail that can’t necessarily be obtained with planes or satellites. Increasing that flight time is paramount to building new and/or stronger use cases for the industry and building the enterprise to scale.

Doosan Mobility Innovation saw that the industry not only needed this longevity, but also required solid network connectivity and compatibility with a range of sensor types to make business use cases viable. This is why Doosan just released their updated DS30 drone with a Pixhawk flight controller and 2 hours of flight time. The Pixhawk controller enables the pilot to do more over the network and expands sensor compatibility with Pixhawk enabled sensors from leading companies like DJI and Sony.
