On June 22nd, Doosan Mobility Innovation (DMI) participated in a large-scale basic disaster preparedness training conducted near Yeongildae Beach in Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do. This training was conducted in collaboration with various disaster relief organizations and civil groups to protect people's lives and property from water disasters. Over 300 people participated, including the drone team of Professor Lee Kook-Jong from Ajou University, Civil Marine Rescue Team, Daejo Shipping, Marine Police, and Pohang North Fire Station. In addition, 15 ships, 2 helicopters, 4 drones, and 3 ambulances were mobilized.

Professor Lee Kook-Jong, who also serves as a defense consultant for the Ministry of National Defense, delivered a special lecture on the 'Utilization of Hydrogen Drones and Future Drones', emphasizing the potential benefits of hydrogen drones in various operations such as maritime search, fire extinguishing, and sample collection. The training scenario began with a fire breaking out on a passenger ship during navigation, which couldn't be initially contained. Sequential training modules included guiding the evacuation of passengers, rescuing and evacuating crew and passengers, extinguishing the fire, searching and rescuing individuals who fell into the sea, transporting emergency patients, and marine pollution control measures.

DMI's hydrogen drone played a key role in the overall disaster scene command and control by using its camera for real-time broadcasting. It quickly identified the location of individuals who fell into the sea and relayed this information to the rescue team, ensuring the critical 'Golden Hour' for rescue. An official from DMI stated, "DMI's hydrogen drone is capable of performing various tasks including searching for and rescuing distressed and missing individuals, firefighting, reconnaissance, surveillance, etc. In marine accidents, where quick and safe rescue operations are crucial, it plays a significant role. We will continue to collaborate with military and police-related organizations to promote the utility of hydrogen drones and contribute to creating demand."
